Ideas about Container Gardens
When you are buying up all
those leftovers at your local home store and you are thinking ahead to
the next growing season there are a few things that you might want to
keep in mind about containers you use when you are creating a container
garden. You can put a plant in a container of any kind that you have available
but here are a few things you might want to keep in mind when you are
picking out your next new container at the home store.
When you are picking out containers, you should stay
away from containers that are narrow or small on the bottom when you have
children or pets. Small bottom containers can tip over easily and you
can get even madder when your favorite plant is the victim.
Make sure you are able to put holes in the bottom of
your container. When you chose a container that you cant put a hole
in the bottom your plants will drown and wither away when they cant
drain properly.
When you use a container that is short or that is made
out of terracotta you will find that these will dry out faster in the
sunlight leaving you to have to water them more often.
Dont use containers that you have once had detergents
or chemicals in. Of course chemicals and detergents can harm the plants
to the point where they will not grow or possibly die.
Use sized containers that you will be able to carry
if you plan on moving it in the winter months. If you are choosing containers
that are too large to move, and you have delicate plants growing, the
cold fall and winter months may kill off the treasures you cant
move easily.
